Like so many minerals and gemstones, Lapis has a long and significant history. Historically it was considered to be magical with healing properties and was therefore a favorite stone for amulets and royal seals. Revered for its deep blue color and golden inclusions of pyrite (not gold), lapis is like the night sky shimmering with a multitude of bright stars. The intensity of the blue color imparts higher value to the stone.
