This is a Thai Hill tribe silver necklace created with traditional silversmithing methods used for many generations in Northern Thailand. The high quality silver craftsmanship is a source of great pride in this part of the world where silver is still hammered by hand and jewelry is 98% silver, a higher grade than the 92.5% silver we refer to as sterling. Silver jewelry has a variety of appearances depending upon how it is finished, how highly it is polished and whether it is oxidized.
