This is magnificent wearable art that will take you anywhere with sophistication & style. A majority of Indonesia's 33 provinces have their own unique patterns of batik which are made entirely by hand using traditional techniques vastly different from industrialized mass-printing processes employed in modern textile industry today. Indonesia's batik has been included on UNESCO's list of cultural treasures. The word 'batik' in Indonesian means 'to dot' and refers to the process of 'dotting' fabric with wax to create the various patterns.
