She's the kind of weaver who is a national treasure...a cherished human repository for the secret dyes, patterns and techniques of what is now a cultural tradition struggling to survive. Slow and meticulous work, weaving holds little attraction for the younger generation. Every village house in Lao, however, still has a loom and every village girl still learns to weave.
